Sceneboard
Scene Board was first used for set building in 1977 by the National Theatre Centre in London. TSA introduced this versatile set-building board to Australia in 1985 when the Melbourne Theatre Company began using it in its South Melbourne workshop.
Today, Scene Board is used to produce film and TV sets, amateur theatre and school productions, and in Rock Eisteddfod's. Scene Board (or stage board) is double-fluted sheeting and is supplied in two sizes:
- 5.0 m x 2.1 m x 10mm (full-size sheet)
- 2.5 m x 2.1 m x 10mm (half sheet)
WEIGHTS
Full Sheet = 15KG
Half Sheet = 7.5kg
The sceneboard can be easily cut with a Stanley knife or saw; can be glued, screwed or nailed; and is easily painted.
